SWPBS - School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

SWPBS stands for; School Wide Positive Behaviour Support.

It is a framework with a systematic and universal approach that encompasses individualized and proactive strategies to help create and support positive and safe learning cultures.

It is a framework that brings together the whole school community to work together to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for our students across all school settings.

SWPBS incorporates evidence-based practices to drive classroom activities, data-based decision making, and a problem solving orientation.

The Expectations Matrix is a document that outlines the expected behaviours in all areas and locations of the school and how these expectations relate to our Values; Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

Pom Poms

Pompoms are handed out to students by staff to acknowledge the display of expected behaviours.

The Pompoms come in 3 colours. These colours represent our school values;

Red – Resilience
Blue – Respect
Green – Responsibility

When a student is acknowledged for their behaviour, the Pompom received will reflect the value that you were displaying alongside verbal praise.

Pompoms are collected by students and placed into individual personal labelled containers.

When a student has earnt 10 Pompoms they have the option to swap them for a 10s Token. The student brings the 10 Pompoms to a staff member who will in return give them the token.

100s Tokens are available for students who would like to swap 10x 10s Tokens.

Pompoms are a form of currency.

When we collect different amounts of Pompoms we can cash them in for a reward of your choice.

There are a variety of awards on offer ranging from erasers, books, games, lunch with the teacher, and even free time!

When we are ready to cash in our Pompoms we tell our classroom teacher. They help us to swap our tokens and Pompoms and collect our reward.
